Olivia Davies

Art and craft played a big part in Olivia's life from a very early age, and she always had a craft project on the go. In her early teens Olivia discovered oil paints and earned pocket money by painting Formula 1 cars for a family friend's car garage.
Her love of painting grew. Olivia's sole ambition was to go to art college, so she stayed on at school and achieved all the necessary qualifications.  Sadly, her parents decided art was not a suitable career.  Olivia was devastated and art was put on the back burner.
In 1970 Olivia left England for Costa Rica, but with two small children and teaching full time there was little time for art. She returned to the UK in 1986 and it wasn't until she retired from school life in 2001 that she started painting again.
Olivia's favourite media are pen and wash, mixed media, pastel, and acrylics. She enjoys painting all subjects, particularly pet portraits, and collages of towns/villages/life histories. Olivia is on the committee of Towcester & District Art Society, and a member of Milton Keynes Society of Art.
